FAQ

Do you perform music for the ceremony/cocktail hour?
Yes! I'd love to play for your ceremony/cocktail hour. If you're not quite sure what you'd like, I'd love to send you a complete proposal detailing how I can help make your occasion amazing!

Will you travel to my event?

No matter what the location, I can accommodate your needs. I have worked in large venues as well as various clubs and private home parties, indoors and outdoors! Travelling outside the city and interstate is not a problem.

Can I see you perform?

I will be happy to provide a personal showcase performance in my studio!

What is the performers' attire during events?
The standard performance attire is a black dress and formal shoes. If you prefer something different (casual attire, costumes, etc.), just let me know!

When do you take breaks?
After each hour of playing I take a break of 15 minutes. If I have a long engagement (3 hours or more) with you a meal break is required. I will meet with you before your special day and will coordinate the day-of outline beforehand to ensure the flow of event.

Do you take special song requests?
Of course! What would your event be without special song requests? I will learn any special dances, no questions asked. In addition, I am happy to learn other requests if they're not on the song list with no additional charge up to 5 songs requests!  Make the day yours!

What deposit amount do you require to reserve the date?
I require a $100 deposit to reserve the date. The remaining balance must be paid 14 days prior to the event.

What makes Mina Yu different from other pianists?
Strong attention to detail and musical excellence. This is the biggest day of your life, so why settle for anything less than perfect? Mina Yu shares this sentiment.

Further, I believe that you shouldn't have to worry about anything on your special day. I will work with you via email, phone, meetings, and anything else you need to feel comfortable before your big day.

Why should I choose a pianist over a DJ?
Whether you decide to hire a pianist or a DJ, the music you choose can really make or break your event.

The energy of a live performer is unmistakable and you and your guests will get the luxury of experiencing a performance. A pianist will certainly raise the level of elegance and keep the vibe classy!

There is a common misconception that a live performer will only play certain types of music, and can really limit the choice - something Mina Yu refuses to do! The music is always beautiful for your dream moments.

What are the payment methods?
Cash, bank transfers and major credit cards are accepted.
